Healthcare Team Training: Simulation

Simulation Background: Simulation is a powerful training tool because it allows the trainer to systematically control the schedule of practice, presentation of feedback, and introduction (or suppression) of environmental distractions within a safe, controlled learning environment. With the availability of patient simulation devices like "Sim Man," healthcare now has the necessary technology to couple the training of technical skills for individuals with the non-technical skills required for teams.

Simulator Training: Our trained simulation facilitators will provide the necessary support to use simulation for improved patient outcomes. Our training includes high fidelity events in simulation labs, local (in-situation) simulation and low fidelity scenarios in the classroom that leverage team behaviors.

Simulator Curriculum Development: Non-technical skills include communication, teamwork, leadership, planning, mutual support, decision-making and situation monitoring. Healthcare Team Training integrates these non-technical skills with traditional clinical skills used in new or existing simulation programs and event-based scientific evidence.
